*I know that most frames are 135mm dropout frames and I used to supply 135mm motors but they turned out to be troublesome compared to 150mm dropout motors. The motor itself is pretty much the same but the 135mm required 6mm worth of spacers behind the disk which then moved the disk bolts too close to the motor cable which could potentially result in a damaged motor cable if they end up touching. Installing a 7 speed freewheel also required several axle spacers, which is not an issue in itself but to have the wheel centred in the frame you would need to install just as many spacers on the disk side too and that resulted in having a motor that had an overall width of over 150mm but more complicated. All of my repetitive buyers also agreed that the 150mm dropout motor is much easier to deal with. I wouldn't have switched over to 150mm dropout motors if I didn't think it was worth it and as a matter of fact the 150mm dropout motor axle is longer overall so I am paying more in shipping than I would pay for a 135mm dropout motor because of the wider box required to ship them.
